Venetian Salmon - #250918-2

Handcrafted blown-glass Salmon mounted on a beeswax-finished steel base by Ryan Bavin. This unique piece utilizes an old Venetian glass technique called reticello to create the pattern in the body of this fish. The Fish were conceived by Ryan Bavin in 1996.  After ten years of development they were finally ready to show publicly, and in 2008 the Bavin's had a show of 25 fish at Master's Gallery in Calgary, Alberta.

Since the first show, the Fish have continued to develop, with small details and different species being added to the repertoire.
