This is a classic example of Bavin’s style of simple, symbolic shapes, oversized vegetation with a “T” composition of the road taking the eye up to the church and dispersing into the upper landscape and sky. He will always try to include a symbolic mountain feature such as Chisel Peak that’s in the upper left with plenty of reds repetitively coming down to compliment the greens. Notice the ovoids outlined in green.
